HistoryBIOLan Ukraine Association . Background. At the beginning of 2000 Illintsi State Agricultural Technical School became one of the establishers of the Swiss-Ukrainian fellowship for contacts developing on the basis of experience exchange and the pullulation of ecological agriculture deas, that is: studying of bioorganic and biodynamic technologies in connection with resources saving methods of production (tillage with direct sowing); alternative resources of energy and research on their net cost in conditions of the Ukrainian market. The question of regeneration of the natural soil fertility is one of the major fields for agricultural development in progressive countries all over the world. It is especially vital for Ukraine, as in the past years a biological structure of soils has dramatically changed: the humus content has declined and acidity has increased. A great deal of experiments has been performed on the pilot fields of Illintsi College for the last 5 years. They proved the necessity of spreading of ecological technologies in Ukraine for the purpose of The samples of agricultural equipment of Swiss production were examined while carrying on the DOK researches. Upon the project of the engineer Martin Heberley (Switzerland) together with Ukrainian specialists the first direct seeding planter was constructed in Ukraine. It proved to be highly effective in operation. The accumulated experience brought forth a possibility to hold a number of seminars on developing perspectives of ecological systems of agriculture in Ukraine with the participation of representatives of national and foreign educational institutions and non-governmental organizations, namely Kulbaba Ltd., Zolikofen Agricultural College, Educational Agricultural Center Wallierhoff, Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), Switzerland, Lviv non-governmental organization Zhyva Zemlya and many other. Ukrainian students also got a possibility to have a 4-moth practice on Swiss farms of different types and after returning back home they started implementing their experience in Ukraine. The number of Ukrainian farmers, who are interested in organic production, increases each year, as well as the number of questions regarding the marketing of organic products. In 2003 under on the basis of Illintsi College of Vinnitsa State Agricultural University a jointed Ukrainian-Swiss project EcoLan Ukraine started. The core point of the project became the Association of Organic Production Stakeholders BIOLan Ukraine, which had been founded to lobby interests of organic producers and to develop domestic and foreign markets for Ukrainian organic products. the Association of Organic Production Stakeholders BIOLan Ukraine was founded at a foundation meeting on December 19, 2002. |
