9 Reasons why to choose organic products

1. A better taste

 

Many people buy organic products because they reckon these products have a better taste when compared to traditional ones. It can be caused by the slow growth of organic products and therefore they contain less water than non-organic. In other words, when you buy an organic product, you get more carrot for your carrot.

 

2. It is healthy food

 

On the average organic food contains more of vitamin C and necessary minerals, such as Ca, Mg, Fe, and by 10-15% more phenol compounds and antioxidants that stand up to cancer. Organic milk, for instance, in comparison to traditional milk contains more fatty acids omega -3, vitamin E, A (beta-carotene), etc.

 

3. No harmful adjuncts

 

Only 32 out of 290 food adjuncts, approved for the use in EU are permitted in organic products.

 

4. We avoid pesticides

 

No pesticides are used in organic production, when in traditional production 331 pesticides are used.

 

5. No genetic modification

 

According to the time of day more than 1 billion ton of genetic modified crops are imported and are used as food for animal stock, and therefore in the supermarket one can find pork, veal, and diary products from stock animals which were grown, using genetic modified food.  According to organic standards all GM crops, ingredients and food for animal stock are totally forbidden in organic agriculture.

 

6. No antibiotic, no growth factors

 

Organic standards forbid any use of antibiotic and growth control agencies. This is connected, first of all, with resistance of human bacteria to the same or related antibiotics.

 

7. High standards

 

All sources of organic food are kept under control. All farms and food companies are inspected at least once a year. Processing, packing and storing are also inspected.

 

8. Animal care

 

The attitude towards the well-being of animals is rather serious according to organic standards. Like human beings, healthy animals can better resist to diseases, than stressed animals. Therefore organic farmers long to crate the well-being for their animals.

 

9. It is better for the nature and environment

 

Organic agriculture contributes to the environmental protection, namely it influences renewal of natural soil fertility, contributes to biological plant variety. In short, organic production is a production in harmony with nature.
